Post the Star Parivaar Awards, Star Plus may have shed its fat but nevertheless it is still maintaining an iron-like grip on the leadership crown for the week which ended on 26 June, indiatelevision.com reported.
Despite a 32 steps GRP fall, Star Plus is still maintaining a healthy lead of 158 GRPs ahead of the second in command, Colors.
Star Plus’s top rated show for the week, Bidaai (Monday-Friday, 9 pm) registered a peak TVR of 1.24 and an average TVR of 158 GRPs of 6.6. Last week it registered 5 TVR.
The newly launched Tere Liye is continuing to grab the viewership pie at 10 pm slot with a peak TVR of 4.19 and an average TVR of 3.9.
Anupam Vasudev, Star India told the website, “Our weekday primetime is almost 60 per cent higher than everybody else’s and this is because of the channel’s organic growth as we are fundamentally leading in all the day part primetime slots from 6.30 pm – 11 pm except the 8 pm band.”
The IIFA Awards Sri Lanka Flashback, which aired on Sunday 10 pm, delivered 1.4 TVR and in two hours garnered 5.6 GRPs. The world TV premiere of Bum Bum Bole on Sunday at 6.30 pm delivered 1.5 TVR and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai on Sunday at 1 pm delivered 1.9 TVR.
The task ahead for Star Plus is to maintain the brand trajectory that has moved up to a higher scale.
As for Colors, the primetime slot is losing its gloss. While Uttaran peaked at 4.2 TVR, its week’s average TVR remains almost stable. Their flagship show, Balika Vadhu has dropped significantly to 3.7 TVR from 4.8 TVR.
Overall, the channel genre which have grown this week are Hindi News with 57 GRPs, Hindi Movies with 446 GRPs and youth with 129 GRPs.
